ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if I should comment because I think I won the 30-Day Vegan Challenge from two days ago, so feel free to discount my comment if you want. I love the PPK! I haven't posted anything since they put up the new forums, but I check the Food Porn page all the time to admire all of the amazing vegan food. I just think it is such a great community, and everyone is so supportive and helpful, and there are always great recipe ideas. Thanks for having such a great giveaway!

The ppk is a compassionate, supportive, smart and FUN (!) bunch without whom I don't know if I'd still be vegan after 3+ years. They have helped me with more issues than they probably know, and I love them.
I love the PPK! I've made so many amazing friends though the forums & they always have he best advice when I'm in the middle of a cooking crisis!!

Ooh, what an awesome prize pack! Let's see - my favorite things about the PPK are the general health and nutrition forum (the old weight lossy boards) where I've gotten and shared lots of tips on how to cook healthy vegan food, the NYC forum and all the meetups that have come out of that, and Isa's chocolate pumpkin loaf recipe! Yum .
ReplyDeleteWhat I love about the PPK is how we never take ourselves too seriously! The threads that start out as drama or with trolling always end up with 6 pages of talk about ice cream cones or something. Hilarious!

If I'm planning a trip with friends and we're talking about lodging options, I'll say "oh, I can ask some ppkers if we can stay with them for a night" They think I'm crazy for wanting to stay with people I haven't met, but I just say "Well, I haven't met them, but I know them!"
ReplyDeleteI'm not entirely sure what a PPKer is, but at the moment i really wish i was one! Especially because I really want those bunny covered chopsticks, as silly as that sounds. =] I was just scanning through the vegan mofo blogs and came across yours.
ReplyDeleteThe PPK is like my non-physical home. There are so many funny, intelligent, sarcastic, wonderful people there. I've made some great IRL and internet-weirdo friends. And it's like an amazing, continuously updating knowledge store - where to buy cute monster things, how to pronounce Daiya, creative uses for garlic cloves. I love it.

I love the PPK because it's one of the very first sites I discovered when I first went vegan, so it has this very comforting supportive feel to me. It's always my first stop for recipes and advice on all things vegan.
ReplyDeleteI'm mostly a lurker but I reckon I can credit the PPK with making veganism a live option for me. That website -- community and Isa's blog -- plus Isa's (and Terry's!) cookbooks provided enough confidence to leap into the world of vegan cooking (and baking, my true love~) that is not just endless omni-food analogues but is instead, or is additionally, inherently vegan and wondrous! So much PPK love! <3
